iD Mobile PAC Code: Leave or Join iD and Keep Your Number
To get your iD Mobile PAC code, text PAC followed by your date of birth (DDMMYY) to 65075 from your iD SIM — for example, PAC 140385. The code is free, arrives by text within a minute and lasts 30 days. Give it to your new network and your number moves on the day you choose.
Coming the other way? To bring a number to iD, you get a PAC from your current network and enter it at checkout or in the iD Mobile app. Both directions are covered below, along with the awkward cases: a deleted eSIM, a line that is already disconnected and the cost of leaving early.
In short: PAC + date of birth to 65075 keeps your number. The same text with STAC, sent to 75075, gives it up. INFO to 85075 shows what leaving will cost.
Leaving iD: how to get your PAC
| Route | How |
|---|---|
| Text | Text PAC and your date of birth as DDMMYY to 65075 from your iD SIM |
| App | In the iD Mobile app, go to My Account → Thinking of leaving? → Switch or Cancel Now → Get PAC Code |
| Phone | Call 0333 003 7777, press 2, then 2, then 1, and enter your iD Customer Service PIN |
The date of birth is what trips people up. A plain “PAC” text works on most networks, but iD expects the six digits after it. Your Customer Service PIN, needed for the phone route, is in your welcome text, your welcome email and the app.

What leaving iD costs
The code itself is free. If you are out of contract, there is nothing else to pay. Leave before your minimum term ends and iD charges an early termination fee: your monthly plan price multiplied by the months left.
- Check first: text INFO to 85075, or open Plan → Leave iD → Leaving cost in the app.
- Read the PAC text: it includes an estimate of the early termination fee, though not any other charges you have run up.
- Final bill: once your number moves, the iD account closes by itself and the final bill is produced the next day.
- Credit back: if your Direct Debit is still active, iD refunds any credit automatically. Allow 28 to 32 days for the whole process.
Two situations iD’s own pages cover
You deleted your eSIM. You cannot send the text without an active SIM, so use the app or the phone route from the table above. If you would rather stay, request a replacement eSIM instead.
Your line is already disconnected. You can still rescue the number within 30 days of disconnection. Open iD’s live chat and type “PAC after disconnection”. iD does not offer this route once that window has passed, so act quickly.
Make sure you send the right word to the right number. A STAC ends your service and releases the number — not what you want if it is a premium mobile number.
Joining iD: switch to iD Mobile and keep your number
- Get a PAC from your current network. Most networks send one if you text PAC to 65075. On Three, the text needs extra details — see the Three guide.
- Give it to iD. Enter it at checkout, or later in the app or at my.idmobile.co.uk under “Switch to iD” on the Plan screen.
- Pick a date. Switches run Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays and some seasonal periods. Your number moves by 10pm on the day you choose.
Until then, iD gives you a temporary number by text, along with the switch date. If you bought your iD plan first and port later, you may be asked for your transaction number: nine digits starting with a 4, found in your “Order Complete” or “Welcome to iD” email. Moving your number in is free; any leaving fees are owed to your old network.
If the switch runs late, iD’s systems spot it, set a new date and add compensation without you asking. Once the number is live, restart your phone before you use it.
Common questions
What network does iD Mobile use?
Three’s. Three merged with Vodafone in 2025 to form VodafoneThree, and iD says its customers need no new SIM because of it. Moving from iD to either of them is still a normal switch, so you still need a PAC.
Can I move a number between two iD accounts?
Not with a PAC. iD’s community team says the code only moves a number to a different provider, so a move between iD accounts has to go through another network first.
Can I cancel a switch I have started?
Yes, through the network you are joining — most need at least 24 hours’ notice. If you do nothing with your PAC, it expires after 30 days, and your iD plan carries on and is billed as normal.
The short version
Check the leaving cost first, then text for your PAC and pass the code on. Joining iD, enter your old network’s code at checkout and pick a weekday. For how the porting authorisation code works on every network, see the guide to PAC codes.
