Vodafone PAC Code: How to Get It, Plus the VOXI and Three Traps
To get your Vodafone PAC code, text PAC to 65075 from your Vodafone phone. The code arrives by text, it is free, and it lasts 30 days. Give this porting authorisation code to the network you are joining and your number moves, usually the next working day.
Two situations trip people up on Vodafone specifically: moving to VOXI, which is Vodafone’s own brand, and moving to Three, which is now part of the same company. Both are covered below.
In short: check what leaving costs → text PAC to 65075 for the code → give it to your new network → your number moves the following working day. Free, and no phone call needed.

How to get a PAC code from Vodafone
| Your situation | What to do |
|---|---|
| One number on the account | Text PAC to 65075 from that phone |
| Several numbers on the account | Use My Vodafone, or call 0333 3040 191 |
| Already left Vodafone | Start an online chat through Vodafone’s contact page — possible for up to 30 days after you left |
The text route is the fastest. Under Ofcom’s text-to-switch rules, the code should come back within a minute, though Vodafone’s own help pages promise it within two hours. Either way, you never have to speak to a retentions team.
Check what leaving costs first: INFO to 85075
Before you ask for a PAC, text INFO to 85075. It is free, it does not start a switch, and the reply tells you:
- any early termination charge on your airtime contract
- anything still owed on a handset, which is usually a separate credit agreement
- your remaining credit, if you are on pay as you go
Every UK network supports this shortcode, not just Vodafone. If you have more than one number on the account, the text will not work — check your leaving fee in My Vodafone instead.
Moving from Vodafone to VOXI: why your PAC may be rejected
This is the problem behind thousands of searches for a “Vodafone to Vodafone PAC code” every month.
VOXI is Vodafone’s own brand and runs on the same systems. Because the number is not actually leaving Vodafone, a PAC can come back as invalid when you enter it at VOXI. People then request a second and third code, each one failing the same way, and burn days doing it.
If your PAC is rejected moving to VOXI
- Stop requesting new codes — the code is not the problem.
- Contact VOXI or Vodafone through live chat and say you are moving between the two brands.
- Have your account details and any account PIN to hand, as you may be asked to verify them before the number is moved internally.
Moving from Vodafone to Three
Vodafone and Three merged into one company, VodafoneThree, but they still run as separate networks. A move between them is a normal port: you text for a PAC and give it to Three, exactly as you would for any other network. Going the other way, from Three to Vodafone? Three asks for your date of birth in the PAC text — the Three PAC code guide shows the format.
The failure worth knowing about here is a split port. The switch completes, your new SIM works, but calls and texts from people who are themselves on Vodafone stop reaching you. The number has moved, but Vodafone’s network has not fully updated where to send it.
How to spot it: ask a friend on Vodafone to ring and text you, and a friend on another network to do the same. If only the Vodafone caller fails, it is a split port. Report it to Three, your new network, with those test results — they own the fix, and specific evidence gets it escalated faster.
On switch day
- Keep your Vodafone SIM active and the account open until the move completes
- Transfers run on weekdays only, so a Friday evening request lands in the new week
- Vodafone service stops first, then your new SIM takes over
- Your Vodafone account closes on its own — do not cancel it yourself
Cancelling before the transfer finishes is the one dependable way to lose the number.
PAC or STAC — send the right one
- PAC to 65075 — you leave Vodafone and keep your number
- STAC code to 75075 — you leave Vodafone and give the number up
Check the reply before you forward it. A STAC cannot be undone, which matters most when the number is worth something — a premium mobile number released this way is gone for good.
Common questions
Does Vodafone charge for a PAC code?
No. The code is free. Any money involved is what you already owe, which the INFO text shows you in advance.
Does getting a PAC end my Vodafone plan?
No. Requesting the code changes nothing. Your plan only ends when your new network uses the code to move the number.
Can I still get a Vodafone PAC after leaving?
Yes, for 30 days after you left. Use Vodafone’s online chat, or call 0333 3040 191 if the account had more than one number.
What if my code expires?
Request another the same way. There is no limit and no charge.
The short version
Check the cost with the INFO text first, then send PAC to 65075 for the code. If you are going to VOXI and the code is rejected, use live chat instead of requesting more codes. If you are going to Three and Vodafone callers cannot reach you afterwards, report it to Three. For the process across every network, see the guide to PAC codes, and the O2 and EE guides for those networks’ own quirks.
